DTS is Strategic Business unit under Holding Company of Colombo Dockyard PLC, Design unit has delivered successful detail ship designs for more than 46 years. Regardless of the size of the project, our ideas grow out of technological knowledge combined with an understanding of the changes in the outside world and new shipping needs.
Colombo Dockyard’s shipbuilding activities commenced in 1974 with the construction of small tug boats, patrol boats, and barges which are now an important revenue source for the company.The company has been successful in securing orders from both local and overseas clients by competing with leading shipbuilders worldwide and is now in an enviable position rivaling shipbuilding yards that specialize in the construction of high powered and complex tug boats as well as aluminum-hulled high-speed boats which are a part of our wide spectrum of shipbuilding capacity.
DTS CAD-VENTURE established her business in the year 2019 as a fully owned Subsidiary company of Colombo Dockyard PLC dealing with all aspects of ship design and engineering. Over the years we expanded our new company to well over 100 Employees to improve our services in the designing industry globally. We warmly invite you to visit our head office in Colombo Sri Lanka or Onomichi Dockyard Ltd in Japan (Major shareholder of Colombo Dockyard PLC) offices in to witness the company’s activities, to discuss future projects, or just for a good cup of coffee.Working in close cooperation with ship owners and shipyards and participating in the realization of visions and ideas into a state-of-the-art vessel is what drives us every day.
Over 46 Years, we have successfully made detailed designs for a variety of vessels taking into account various constraints related to operations, the vessel dimensions, and the water depth limitations at operational conditions of these vessels. These designs have been successfully used to build the vessels meeting the highest level of standards meeting the client’s project costs estimates.
